For my propaganda project, I constructed what i feel would have been popular games among nobles and their children. The first shows cards, and on each card there is a method of torture. The noble would have the peasant pick two cards at a time, until they got a match, and that would be the punishment receive. This shows how the nobles feel that it is the commoners own faults when they are punished and tortured, even if they did nothing to deserve it, they chose the method. Originally, in the deck, I had four 'freedom" cards, with signs of nobility on top of them. However, because they never actually had a chance to be freed during these times, I removed the match for each card so it s impossible to ever be set free, but leaving them a glimmer of false hope. On the "cover" card, I wrote "fun for the whole family!" because I wanted to show how all ages contribute to the torturing of the peasants, and "1 1/2 players" because the commoners only count as half of a player. The second game is geared towards young nobility, who are just learning to read write and spell. I remodeled the "A is for Apple" cards seen nowadays and made each letter for a different torture or word relating to the time period because the children are never too young to begin learning A to Z torture techniques. This shows how the nobles passed their corrupt ideas on to even the youngest child, similar to how Jerry Cruncher taught young Jerry to abuse his mother and be cruel to others.
